Port Authority Airport Access Director Edward O'Sullivan wrote to the Tri-State Transportation Campaign in response to the October 19 issue of this bulletin, clarifying that it was the Federal Aviation Administration, not the Port Authority, that extended the comment period (until
December 16) for the much-scorned Airport Access Automated Guideway Transit (AGT) project. The November 3 letter also rejected our citation of an observer who ventured that the extension reflected a lack of confidence by the Port Authority in the AGT plan. I can assure you that the Port
Authority remains enthusiastic about its proposal for a sorely needed train link, O'Sullivan wrote.
