Anew transportation advocacy coalition is emerging in southwestern Connecticut. Presently known as the Connecticut Transportation Futures Coalition, citizens groups led by the Environmental Council of Stamford (ECOS) are reacting to a nearly wholly auto-oriented long range plan

recently adopted by the southwestern CT metropolitan planning organization. ECOS is drumming up interest locally and will host a forum in Stamford on January 12 (see calendar section below) in conjunction with CT Fund for the Environment, Citizens for Sensible Seven, the Tri-State

Transportation Campaign and Conservation Law Foundation. Contact Eve Cholmar (tel) 203-322-5567 or Philip Berns (email) 72260.734@compuserve.com.
