The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) will adopt criteria and a project list for ISTEA-mandated major metropolitan transportation investment studies at a December 1 Program, Finance and Administration Committee meeting (One World Trade Center, 82nd Floor). The
Council and its constituent agencies are attempting to grandfather large-scale highway projects like I-287 in Westchester and the Gowanus Expressway in Brooklyn to protect them from the alternatives analysis and scrutiny called for by the major investment study regulation. The
Campaign is organizing meeting attendance by Westchester and Brooklyn community leaders and supporters.
